Home sweeeeeeet home!! Haha I was so hoping to be able to upload some photos of our new home. you would laugh yourselves to death. It is an veeeery old Kia Pretoro (?) or something campervan. I have no idea what color it used to be, but now it is spraypainted with "fifty rebels" on the driver side and a whole lot of colors all the way around. We have been driving the van up the east coast for a few days now. driving on the wrong side is a new experience in itself, and to drive a looong van as well iss an experience. we drive in turns, one day each. so far no accidents! The first day out of Sydney Marthe impressed us all jumping up in the driving seat and getting us over the Harbour Bridge and out of the city. The first night we found a camping near patonga. a small quiet place, it did not fit with what someone has spraypainted on the back of our van.. "Honk if you don't think about your mom while your having sex" we've gotten quite a few honks the last couple of days!! but anyway.. it is not always the best feeling driving in to a caravan park full og families and children with that on the back of our van..haha..
I'm back again this time writing to you from Byron bay. This is a kind of small place, but it has a reputation of being one of the best party places for people of all ages on the east coast. We had some troubble finding a place to park our van. the caravan parks are really expencive and one of them even told os no because of the writing on the back of our van. but we just came back 30 min later, and talked to another lady who didn' t ask if we had anything affending written onour car. to be on the safe side we taped two maps over the statement so taht it doesnt show. it worked like a charm. we spend our days on the beach, and last night we tried to go out. but we are spoiled now with how cheep it was in asia so finding out that we have to pay cover here kind og caught us off gard. but well.. Marthe and Ingunn went to the Monkey club. (I can't remember the full name, Cheezy Monkey maybe?) I had lost the moode to party so I went home. this morning I got up early and went to a internet cafe. been sititng here for 3 hours now, and I finally got some photos out! so check out the photo albums on my blog people!
We have had quite a few stops up the coast, Patonga, Stockton, Seal rocks, Port McQuirie (?) and Coffs Harbour. tomorrow we are going to find a free camping site to save in some money. Australia is a lot more expensive than Asia so we have to be careful with our money. I hear from the news that there are fires in the south, a cyklon hit north, sharks has been spotted by the beaches and there are crocodiles roaming the streets. but to all of you back home, we havent seen anything so far. but we are beeing careful. thank you to all of you writing on my message board or facebok. it is nice to hear from you. Think I will get some lunch now. and then walk up to Byron bay lighthouse. it is supposed to bee beautiful.
