Today we flew BA to Nice. Once again after hearing every ones stories about Heathrow we left the protective surounds of the beautiful Sofitel Heathrow hotel allowing plenty of time for airport processing. Every thing went smoothly except Helen's carry on bag had a heap of cosmetics which triggered a detailed bag inspection. (next time cosmetics will be in checked baggage!) Other than that everything was smooth sailing and we departed on time and made a bumpy arrival into Nice. Here the Porsche adventure started, being met on arrival by their representative. Soon we were preparing for our Helicopter transfer to Monte Carlo. Helen's nervousness was
greatly relieved when they announced the helicopters were not flying due to heavy rain and that we would go by road. But the relief was short-lived as a further communication came to the driver that it was OK to fly, so back to airport and in the rush to get on board Helen, in the front seat,forgot to be nervous as we ascended into...a heavy rain storm with the pilot reassuringly making swimming actions. So high adventure replaced the expected panoramic view as rain ponded the cabin.The pilot moved slowly until the rain cleared and we enjoyed a misty arrival into Monte Carlo. Helen's first helicopter flight and in appalling conditions she enjoyed it! More surprises to come.
