Well i'm afraid the home of the Rennaisance doesn't do anything for me. The history is quite fascinating, as are the famous people who have come from here and gone on to create history. eg Gallileo, Leonardo Da Vinci, but the buildings, with the exception of the cathedral, do not have as much aesthetic appeal as those in Paris or Pisa. The statue of David (as in David v Goliath) was great and the little shops set around the piazzas were lovely.
The streets were quite dirty though and there was lots of graffitti. The Italians are not as accommodating as the French in every sense of the word, so inpatient and trying to cross the road is to take your life in your own hands. I did witness a fab Police chase though!
Glad I have been but would not go back. Bloody good pizza and pasta though!
Ciao
