Our day began with one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had anywhere, a fantastic selection of hot and cold buffet, all of which was perfectly fresh. With full tums we set off for the Wieliczka Salt Mine in our own taxi driven by Lucas who sorted out our entry tickets and escorted us around the gardens while waiting for our allotted time, he then waited for us to come out to return us to the hotel all for the princely sum of 250 zlotys (£50) between 4 of us. The mine was absolutely fascinating and has amazing sculptures all carved by hand out of rock salt, even a beautiful church where they hold mass every Sunday. We then retired to the pub for the rest of the day where we imbibed rather too much vodka (£2.40) for a double!
