We are expected to arrive at Sortland at 12.30 today, so have a free morning to try and relax. Not as easy as one would think. A day is built up of layers, some good, some not so good. An early breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on toast, orange juice and coffee, lovely. Then it starts to get irritating when you overhear a passenger being obnoxious and rude to a member of staff, who it has to be said, work tirelessly from dawn to dusk, waiting on people hand, foot and finger and always with a smile! Then we get a nice spot in front of a window to sit quietly watching magnificent views of passing fjords, reading and writing this blog. It's not long however, before every seat is taken and we're surrounded with people, coughing and sneezing and carrying on their inane chunnering! Cruising is definitely not for us, even Rob is on a short fuse now. He snapped at two people yesterday! 10.45 going on a tour of the galley. Cancel that, I can't face joining in with the hordes of people that have gathered! We'll go to the lecture entitled 'should there be danger money?' by Paul Barker, Press Photographer instead. Regaling us with tales of the dangerous situations he has found himself in while photographing riots, villains and dangerous dogs!
