DAY ONE:

We are all set and ready for Miami! We are currently en route right now... ETA is in approximately 3 hours. Leanne is driving!

So far, we've had an amazing start to our trip! When I got to the front desk to check my suitcase in Calgary, the lady didn't charge me! It was supposed to be $25 per bag but she claimed that I "already paid." (I definitely did NOT... I even asked my mom to see if she had paid it for me in advance, but she hadn't either!) On top of that, all of our flights were on time AND early arriving. All of our luggage was undamaged, (unlike in the Dominican Republic) and when we got to our hotel, we got upgraded to a bigger room because they "over booked." So we got a king bed, two doubles, a pull out, two washrooms, AND a kitchen! And then on top of everything, we found out that they charged us $50 less than expected!! Woo hoo!!!

This morning, however, I was feeling super dizzy and nauseous. I'm 100% sure it was because the hotel's free breakfast buffet ended at 9:30 am (which is 7:30 in our brains.) I feel SO disgusting if I eat solid food before 8-9ish... Especially if I'm extra tired which I was from travelling all day. In the morning, I normally I just have a smoothie or a breakfast shake, but this buffet was all SUPER heavy carbs... Like nasty waffles (what I wouldn't do for one of dad's homemade waffles right now) horrible syrup, disgustingly fatty milk, stale fruit loops, mushy fruit, and dry toast... So I didn't eat much. Good news is I'm feeling much better!! Probably because of all the retail therapy we did today...

FIRST we went to the closest Premium Outlet mall. Cayly had everything planned out in order to go to all the stores we wanted to and make it to Miami before dark. We went to Forever 21, (I ONLY BOUGHT ONE THING AND IT WAS $13 CANADIAN!) Victoria's Secret, and Pacsun under Tevin's recommendation since I've never been there. They had good sales!! Buy one get TWO FREE! He found stuff but I didn't.. :( You can bet your ass I found stuff at Victoria's Secret though!!! Especially considering my underwear RIPPED while travelling from Calgary to Toronto... Let's not talk about that though.

After that mall, we went to Ross which was only a couple minutes away... I bought SUPER CHEAP shoes and a poncho (that I bet my mom will hate. Hey, at least that means she won't steal it!) Tevin bought some pants and a VR set for like $12, just to play around with in the car. It looks cool. (VR stands for Virtual Reality and the set he bought is basically like a head strap that covers your eyes. You attach your phone to it and it feels like you're IN the movie/game you're watching/playing. Idk- it seems bad for your eyes, but oh well!)

After Ross, I was dying of hunger... Leanne and Cayly wanted a Cherry Limeade from Sonic, so we stopped there and I got popcorn chicken and a milkshake... It was gross. I got a headache almost immediately after eating it... It was an interesting fast food restaurant concept though! Apparently there are ordering stations installed at every parking spot, so you can just go and punch in your order and then servers on rollerblades come out! We went through the drive-thru, so we didn't get to experience that.

After getting snacks, we went to one more Outlet Mall. This one had a Lululemon Outlet, but no Victoria's Secret Outlet, which is why we went to both. The lulu store was very disappointing though!!! All of the prices were the same as clearance product in Canadian stores!!! So with the horrible exchange rate, it's not worth it!!! I found a $20 ($26 Canadian) bathing suit top though! And Tevin found some shorts! So we made it worth it!

Right after that, since everyone else was now hungry, we went to Panera Bread before hitting the road. We got yummy clam chowder and bread. I noticed between here and Sonic, all the calories for everything is posted right on the menu! In a pretty big font, too! That would be helpful to have in Canadian restaurants!

Anyway I'm gonna take a nap in the car now! I'll write more later!
