25th june airlie beach we set off on our journey to airlie beach, as soon as we arrived we booked our trip for the whitsunday islands, originally we were doing one night trip, but got a good deal on a two night trip so took it, and decided to skip out great keppal island (further down the coast) so that we wouldnt get too behind the schedule. once that was booked we went to the shopping centre for a look around and i got a well needed haircut! that night we went to a campsite so we could power up, and use their facilities for showering and cooking etc, after a good stint writing my journal we had an early ngiht.
26th june we spent the day at the lagoon sunbathing and topping up the tan, as it was a very hot day! that ngiht we werent powering up so needed somewhere to park up, we went to shingley beach to use the facilities but were recommened not to stay there as we may get moved on, so we parked up in a residential area instead. it was quite posh, lets not talk about toilet arrangements haha. the next morning we went back to shingley beach to use the facilities, had to shower (cold!) outside in our bikinis..interesting!
27th - 29th june whitsunday islands sailing trip we went on a big sailing boat called the atlantic clipper which was the biggest doing trips from the marina, holing just over 50 people. we had an awesome time!... spent the days sunbathing, swimming and snorkelling, spent the ngihts socialising drinking and playing games..our particular favourite being 'shimmy shimmy'!!! we also spent time at whitehaven beach... which is in the top ten beaches in the worls and was absolutely stunning!!! we made friends with a few guys who we spent most the time on the boat with. we got back to the marina at about 12 on the 29th, we were so tempted to stay for the after party that night but decided to stick to our plan and head further down the coast! i was royally hungover from drinking too much goon the night before for the whole journey, it was painful! lol. we head down the coast on our way to rainbow beach, and stopped overnight about halfway at a place just outside rockhampton. we arrived late so after tucking into a kfc, we pulled up in a lay by on the bruce highway, carefully placed in between the busy road and a traintrack! nice! not the best ngihts sleep that night!
