We arrived in Hervey Bay on the 24th January to spend a couple of days catching up with family and friends and doing a major post beach clean of the truck and caravan. Jai managed to fit in a spot of fishing (and set some crab pots) with his brother before it was time to pack up and head for Biloela (to catch up with more family). Unfortunately I had to stay behind initially to do some nursing shifts (see blog 7 February 2016).

The first 5 weeks - we arrived at Double Island late on the 18th December and spent the next 5 1/2 weeks calling it home. We had great weather for the majority of our stay, with lots of friends coming and going (to say farewell). DI has always been our second home and it was great to spend some time here before we really hit the road.

The caravan officially became our home on the 11th December 2015. We spent the first week of our new life at Newmarket Gardens Caravan Park while Jai finished up work. Lesson #1 - make sure the caravan is level at all times otherwise you run the risk of crystallisation in the pipes. Remedy - turn the fridge upside down for at least 1/2 hour (and repeat numerous times). Problem fixed. Thank god for google and handy 'husbands.' At least it happened before we hit ...

We are almost ready to hit the road - mobile home - caravan (tick), turbo engine installed in cruiser (tick), roof top tinnie (tick). Caravan almost fully loaded. Bring on the 18th December.
