After 12 days staying in a town with no services (Dululu) we started heading north and stopped for a day/night in Mackay to catch up on chores (washing, shopping and bill paying).

We spent the first week working on a farm for a lovely couple (Len and Chris Grange) and had the pleasure of meeting one of their long time friends (Gladys) who is 97 this year and going strong. We finished the work week with a game of social tennis on the Friday night (with the locals) and headed back to Matt and Nell's place for drinks post tennis. After spending 12 days camping at the Calliope River Rest Area, we packed up and moved home on Saturday 12 March. One night stop over with Jai's aunt and uncle in Biloela before setting up home at Dululu Rest Area late on the 13 March. Although Dululu Rest Area is only a 48 hour stay, we called it home for 11 days. After 5 weeks in Hervey Bay we packed up and hit the road heading for Gladstone (region). Decided to set up camp at Calliope River Rest Area (Southside) while we see if there are any work prospects. Perfect temporary home with the Calliope River 10 steps from the front door. Jai is loving the fishing (Barra, cod, mangrove jack) and there is plenty of live bait. Would highly recommend a stay. 'The best laid plans' - while travelling around Australia it is my intention to do some nursing shifts and Jai will pick up construction work. Unfortunately as I had not nursed since 2010, I was unable to join a nursing agency until I got some shifts under my belt. As a result Jai continued on to Biloela (as planned) and I stayed in Hervey Bay to do some nursing shifts. A big thank you to Hervey Bay Hospital for taking me on.
