Lin & Phil - Out and About in the Big World...
Been busy recently so heres a brief summary of what we have been up to:
Brisbane - Went on a trip to Steve Irwins Zoo (AKA Australia Zoo). We got there on a minibus owned by what we believe must be Steve Irwins biggest fan/stalker. When we got on the mini-bus our driver gave us a comprehensive talk of Steve Irwins life and then pulled down a flat screen TV from the ceiling and we got to see Steve Irwins biography on DVD (Special Edition too!). After that the driver pulled down his sunscreens which were plastered with pictures of Steve and his family! Slightly Scarry. Before we got off he even tried to sell some postcards of Him and Steve posing with a tiger. Whilst in the park we saw loads of Crocs, Tigers, Cheethas, Wallabies, Snakes etc etc. The highlight for me was walking into the Kangaroo enclosure (which youre allowed to do) and sitting and stroking the cuddly friendly roos. Before heading back to Brisbane the driver took us on a complementary tour round the staff car park to try and spot Steve, however, i think this was more for his own enjoyment....i think Steve would probably have run a mile if he saw this dude. Infact i reckon he's probably got a restraining order on him already.
Blue Mountains - We had a wicked time in the Blue Mountains. It got a bitt nippy as you can see. We did some quallity hiking up there. Phil went trigger happy ....all the time! Is there such a thing as photography addiction?? If so can someone give me a place to send this poor boy (love him really)?
Sydney - Did the usual touristy stuff. Saw the Opera house and Sydney harbour bridge, went on a ferry to Manley. Hung around Darling Harbour to listen to the Jazz festival. Randomly Phil helped rescue a drowning dog! It jumped into the harbour right when i was taking a photo! the owner had one arm so he couldnt reach down the 6 foot drop to grab it out! in the end 3 of us dragged the soaking shivering dog out of the water. When it came up it even shook its water off on all of us...what a thank you! Also randlomly bumped into Camila and Yoshi (who we met on the Whitsunday sailing trip )and Tom (from Fraser Island).
Now in Melbourne after taking the overnight bus.
