Today is the 4th of July which is a big celebration day in America. It is like Australia Day. People put up flags and dressed in blue red and white. We packed a picnic lunch and walked to the beach. The waves were really big. Hannah and I went boogie boarding. Some of the waves pushed us all the way to the shore. Then I tried catching waves without my boogie board. A wave dumped me to the bottom of the ocean. I had to hold my breathe for a long time. I hurt my legs on spiky sea weed. I made some mini sand castles with our new bucket. Dad crushed them with our baseball bat. For dinner we had kebabs. After dinner we went to watch the fireworks. The fireworks were huge. After the fireworks we let a lantern go up in the sky. We all wrote a message on the lantern before we let it go. It was tricky to let go because we had to light a fire in it first.
