We arrived in Granda on the 19th, ready to celebrate Lily´s mad 19th on the 20th, after an interesting journey. Well we somehow made it through the Costa Rican-Nicaraguan border, finding it to be one of the most disorganised systems we had encountered. It took a mere 2 1/2 hours of queueing, which we couldn´t figure out why, until we got inside and discovered that for all the buses constantly arriving at the border, there was ONE woman both stamping passports, and managing the queue... We entered Costa Rica yesterday, to be slightly surprised by the informality of the border crossing... The full body scanners have definately not made it here yet! We had our passports stamped, then walked across a massive bridge above a river which was falling apart - planks had been laid down upon which you could walk, to have your passport stamped again. And that was it! Unfortunately we discovered that we had missed our bus by 20 mins, and the next one wasn´...

We arrived in Panama City, weary after not having slept for 24 hours, and hit the sack in Luna's Castle (our hostal) muy rapido. We wandered around San Felipe for the following day, discovering that underneath the altar in the main church there was a tunnel used for smuggling drugs. Stange, we thought.
