Grrr I have just spent the last 30 minutes writing you guys a blog and then the computer crashed...Im not happy now!! So I shall try and remember what I was writing about and please keep those fingers crossed that I dont disappear half way through this....
..Its always hard writing blogs as I forget what I have already told you and I dont have time to tell you everything that I want to say! So I am in Melbourne now and have already fallen for this place...its the biggest city we have got to so far other than Sydney and it has so much to offer...we spent out first night in a hostel almost on the beach in a place called St Kilda. St Kilda is beautiful. The main street is lined with lovely resaurants, eataries, bars, deli's, cake shops, ice cream shops - you name it, they have it. It has a certain European ambience about it apart from the fact that a few steps way there is a peaceful beach. Its places like this that make me wish I wasnt a backpacker but instead a holiday maker who has 2 weeks to spend all there money and can eat out everynight in every place available - now that would be perfect!!! After our first night we decided to move hostels into a more central place in town. We arrived in the city centre and we couldnt have asked for a better day with better weather. It was Anzac day here which is a public holiday remembering and celebrating Australian involvement in the World Wars (so we think!!!) The vibe was unreal and everyone came together to socialise, drink and be merry. We did a little exploring around and decided it was about time we treated ourselves to some food out. I think we are actually living on about 1 proper meal every 2 days now - much the same as every traveller who got excited in the first few weeks of there trip to Australia..its all good though, Im still getting all the energy I need to keep me smiling :oD
That night was completely random again for us. Our last night in Adelaide was a crazy one and ended up with us meeting P!nk...she had been staying literally opposite our hostel and in a chain of events that started with Charli hurting her toe again we ended up stood with P!nk in her hotel, having a gossip and getting big hugs - it was a good way to end our few days in Adelaide...However back to my point about the random night in Melbourne...during the chain of events I bumped into an old friend called Bibi who I met last summer in LA. She is one of the most amazing guitar players ever and it probably explains why she is now Beyonces guitarist. So we caught up for a while and it turned out she was heading to Melbourne too as Beyonce was due to play there. Im sure you've guessed the rest but yes she hooked myself and Charli up with 2 tickets (and yes they were front row tickets!!!). We partied our little pants off to Beyonce and that girl can put on a show but she still doesnt compare to P!nk. After the show we headed back for some drinks with Bibi and with a few other friends that seem to be following us everywhere we go. Its funny, everywhere we go we seem to bump into the same people - funny that hey!! :oP
I didnt feel too bad the next day even after the wine drinking from the night before!! Yesterday we headed back to St Kilda as it is so beautiful there and the beach was so peaceful and quiet. We couldnt resist but treat ourselves to another meal out which was so yummm yummm!! I think we have spent our food budget for the week now so its back to beans on toast at the hostel and maybe some pasta if Im lucky - niiiiceeee!! Last night was good fun. It was time to chill out at the hostel bar and get some good old Tooheys down my throat - I have decided that Tooheys is actually better than Fosters and Im not looking forward to coming home and having to drink Fosters again...The night is never plain sailing with us and after drinking with some guys we went on the hunt for some food - after beer munchies had caught up us...we finally found somewhere open and all those that wanted food left smiling, as did I!!
I am so excited right now as in about half an hour I am being picked up on the Neighbours bus and within an hour I shall be posing by the Ramsey Street sign!!!!! I know this is pretty sad and I havent actually watched the show for about 6 years but I grew up with BBC1 on every weekday at 5.35pm so its part of my youth and part of me...it just has to be done!! I will so be back here to upload the pictures asap...you know your all jealous :oP
Well I think that has pretty much updated you on the last few days...I leave her for Sydney on Sunday and its straight off for more crazy times...Its not long now until I will be home and you can hear all the other stories I have to tell...I hope your all well and keep your messages coming...lots of love and hugs...xxxxxxxxx
