Welcome to Koh Panghan fellow travellers :D
Arrived at the port with a car waiting for us. The driver was holding up a bit of paper with our names on, we felt special haha! Quick journey to the best western hotel. On arrival we were instantly upgraded again! Not sure how or why this time... But weren't going to complain!
We had 3 little bungalows, the pool is literally on the beach. It was just beautiful there. Very chilled,..as was our day. We had a dip in the pool, and taking advantage of the free wifi(life of luxury) we got to skype everyone. Had a catch up with dan, Simone and Soph Irv...even my cool and hip nan haha. She's keeping up with technology these days.
Lack of sleep caught up with us again, we just chatted for a while, before heading out to get some food. Goon had started a blog... She started reading it to us... A paragraph from it was, 'got ruphied...enough said!' a four word paragraph, i'm thinking it might be a top seller haha! She said it must have been a case of readers block! brilliant!
We walked for a bit trying to find somewhere for food. It seems our hotel was in the middle of nowhere haha. There weren't many people about at all, dark and the buzzing of the electricity wires were pretty freaky. The cables are all twisted here(well Thailand in general) sooo dangerous. Hoping I don't get an electric shock before we leave. Watched some 'Friends' with food. A bit random. Everyone was tired so if there was nothing on the tv the table probably would have been silent. We thought early night to save our energy for the half moon party!!
A MASSIVE... And I mean Massive spider crawled up the wall as we got in the room. Liz spotted it in the corner of her eye. I actually froze with fear! We were all too scared to go anywhere near it. Me an goon went to reception to get somebody and Liz waited having a stare off with the spider! Two men came to our rescue...shut the bathroom door and all we heard was a bang. It must have been a massacre in there! Haha. They then both walked out with a squished tissue. It took two men to take down that spider!! Not surprised it was HUGE! Haha.
Our batteries were recharged with a good 12 hours sleep. We had another chilled out day today , sat by the pool all day. Lots of preperation going on for the pool party! Had a small panic when reading our transfer tickets to Koh Tao and Bangkok. They had the wrong times printed in them. Which would have meant we miss our flights!! We were also told the half moon party had been changed to the 8th. Bad times!! Goon got on the case and gave Steve (the welsh travel agent) who booked it all for us a call. She worked her charm and he managed to change it all for us. An extra night on Pangan and we get to go crazy at the half moon party!! Woooo!!
Got some vodka and mixers to play some card games for pre drinks before heading out to party on the beach! Ride the bus, or ride the tuk tuk as goon calls it, was the game of choice.
Headed out bought a bucket of alcohol on the way and we were raring to go! The atmosphere was pretty awesome! They had a skipping rope set on fire... Seran plucked up the courage to have a go. There was a dart game(pop a balloon for a free drink) the guy let me cheat :). Basketball games, football, lots of foam...And obviously music and dancing...Loads going on! Loved having free drinks all night! The bar man just kept passing them to me. Cheap cheap night! The night just got messy, there were hats, wigs, glasses and dancing on shoulders.
The girls headed home about 3am as the music started to die down, me and Liz decided to walk down the beach to another club which was still buzzing! Got chatting to a group of Brits on the beach . Before we knew it the sun was rising and 6.30am we began to stroll home. Rolled into bed at 7am! Liz emptied her bag and pulled out a hotel key. Earlier in the night one of the boys Liz was talking to forgot he gave her his key,(so did she) he looked for hours through the sand for it. Well the key is still safe but in liz's possession. Haha.
After having a well needed 5 hour nap we chilled by the pool again. The hotel held it's first Pool Party! The sun was shining, the music playing and everyone chilling... Perfect afternoon! Went for a stroll to get our half moon tshirts and UV paint. It took us a while to choose a tshirt. We must have been in the shop at least an hour. It got to the stage where we couldn't be bothered bartering and just bought the shirts and went to get some grub! I thought I'd have a change, and have some pasta. Worst decision I've made since wing away. I ordered pasta with cheese and tomato sauce, expecting a nice creamy sauce on the pasta... But no! It was pasta with a horrible tomato sauce and a SLICE of processed cheese on top! Ridiculous! Was not enjoyable.
Got a ride later that night to a pool party, wasn't supposed to be a big night, but somehow we ended up with buckets (vodka and coke).
Had a game of doubles (me and goon vs Liz and Seran). Tough game they were pretty much winning for the whole game, but we managed to pinch the win in the end. Me and goon then Kicked ass on the pool table. Beat two boys haha. Not sure they were too amused by it. Had some discussions with a group of Israelis, and then met a group of guys from Canada. They were pretty hilarious. One showed us how to do the bucket dance. Basically holding a bucket whilst dancing round it and without spilling any, another break danced and the other showed us the drying clothes dance. Crazy guys. Seran was pushed into the pool by some random, so the drying of the clothes dance was especially for her haha. Got taken to see a tree house with Seran and Chris(one of the Canadians). Was pretty chilled there and sat and chatted until 4am. Another great night!
After check out we transferred to our new hotel, bit of a dive compared to the last, got shown around by the receptionist. She asked if we wanted a tour, so she walked us around the pool and back to reception. Not much of a tour! Haha. After some late breakfast, Len,goon and Seran went to do some kayaking, while me and Liz chilled on the beach. They were gone for a very long time. We kinda thought they'd got lost for a little while, but they managed to paddle their way back eventually.
Getting ready in a room of 5 is a bit of a mission. But the alcohol started to flow again and everyone got in half moon party spirit!! Was great to see a cockroach run across the bed....NOT! Luckily we weren't really planning on sleeping with a transfer at 8am back to the city of squala, so all night partying!!
We had our tshirts on and were all uv'd up ready to go. 12 am struck as we left for the half moon party in the jungle. To start the taxi ride there we sang happy birthday to Seran(awesome way to spend her birthday) then turned up the tunes and had a singalong!
The place was buzzing as soon as we got there. We were all glowing under uv. It looked awesome there. Got our free drinks then hit the dancefloor. Bumped into the majority of people we've met on our travels so far. Len, goon and Seran left a bit earlier than me and liz, (probably the more sensible option as they got some sleep before our taxi at 8am). Me and Liz on the other hand were there until 7am, the party was still in full swing. We lost track of time and had to be back to pack our things! Bit of a rush, got a motorbike back(so much fun), and as soon as we got into the room we crashed out, which was a BAD idea. We all woke at 7.45am thanks to Len. We were lucky she woke up, we had 15 mins to pack our things and get out. Too much rushing for my liking, to be honest I don't have much memory of the morning, other than feeling and looking like a heap of crap. It didn't help that we had another 11 hours of travelling back to Bangkok, still covered in UV paint and in the same clothes. YUK!! Definitely signs of another epic night though.
Last night in Bangkok tonight. Had a lovely meal for Serans birthday, just some packing to do before we head to the airport at 3.30am. Really sad to be leaving Thailand. Even sadder that two (goon and seran) are dropping off and leaving us to go home :(. Just the three musketeers left to continue on our journey around the world.
Definitely looking forward to what Sydney holds!
Will inform you of our antics after Aus!
