As soon as the roads opened and we could leave Cairns we wanted to get as far south as possible because we had wasted 6 days already.
We got the bus for 11 hours on one day and then 7 hours on the next day. We got into Rockhampton, the redneck capital of Australia, at 2am. We were picked up at 6am the next day by the Myella Farm bus after sleeping for 3 hours in a hostel dorm room.
We had to change into Farm Clothes when we got there. That's why we look so trendy in all the photos.
We were there for three days and everyday we went horse riding in the morning and went on dirt bikes in the afternoon.
It was only the second time I've ever been on a horse so it was pretty scary at first but I actually started to enjoy myself and we were doing pretty easy stuff at first like walking around anywhere we wanted to.
On the second day we were herding bulls on the horses. There were 14 bulls that were missing and we had to find them and when we found them we had to escort them back to where all the other bulls hang out. At this point I was pretty good with the horse and I was running about and showing the bulls what for. They were definitely more scared of me than I was of them.
Then we had to herd 50 bulls into some other part of the farm where they were going to be sold. There were about 6 other tourists on horses behind the bulls making them run in a straight line but then there was only me and Katie in front of the bulls making sure they didn't go on a rampage. We had to walk backwards on the horses and try to frighten the bulls to stop them from running into us. I was surprisingly good at this, it just came naturally.
Aidan.
