In South America...my happiness is restored!! Well after 4 flights we made it to Lima. Arrived Santiago, was freezing so glad we only had one nite there. In total 18 hrs flying, over 2 days but arrived on the same day we left with 5hrs dif..confused i am, slept for about 2 days and now cant keep me eyes open past 9pm and up at 4.30am! Liking Peru, culture in abundance, lots to do! Need to learn Spainish as english is not spoken very much, so getting by on phrase book and going to start taking lessons in Cuzco. Learnt quite abit already, but think cos ive not used my brain for 4 months its like a sponge!

Been here 4 days, seen most of the city tourist stuff, the Huaca Pucllana Pyramid was impressive, and spent some spokey time in the underground of Church and Convent of San Francisco, were basically 25,000 people were buried..how do we always end up in these places. Discovered that i am slightly claustrophobic since the chu chi tunnels in Vietnam!

Feel safe here, but am sure ill get robbed at some point, think its just part of the course, but we are being carefull and believe or not sensible...we are also on detox.

We head onto Nazca tomorrow and then onto Cuzco in a few days so we can get a trek booked (no chance of doing the inca trail fully booked) and a climatise and fingers crossed we wont get altitude sickness (we have heard so many stories).

Liddell, poor thing has got food poisoning, but is on the mend so dont worry...think she is finally converted to being a vegie! Its a good thing as she was going to try the guineapig!!

2 months left...flying in!!
