Well here we are again, its that time of the week you are all living for, thats right our wonderful blog! Since the last time we spoke we have done a lot of driving, well i say we, ive been instructing the driver on the navigation side of our enterprise. (More of a background man me). After we spoke to you last we headed up on to our campsite, which was much to be desired. Basically someones back garden with tents pitched in it, was funny though, the woman kept saying "well we only have the one site left and its a bit of a squeeze", that was putting it a tad lightly, we could only put up half of the tent! we wasn't too fussed though all the amenities were free which makes a nice change. We got back about 11 on the night, and watched Heroes and later on this drunk irish fellow living up to his steretype got all aggresive and wanted to fight every one, hmm, those sort of people that let the whole side down, k.nob. he fell asleep after the police were nearly called and ate someones cheese, hehe, i laughed at that. In the Morning we woke to the fresh smell of cat pi$$ real good. we have tried everything since and can we get the smell out, nope, there is a pluss side though nobody camps next to us if they can help it! Jade had her first cup of Tea since England and her words it was "Heaven in a mug". I tell you first the Pimms and Lemonade and now this! We took a short drive to Akaroa, a French town which was very pretty, we sat on the Harbour and read a little, Christine you will be proud to know that Jade has read two books now, she is mighty impressed with herself. We also had a mosy around and found out about a cheap campsite 1/2 an hour away, so we got provisions at the local shop, we also indulged in a bar of Cadburys Dairy Milk, even I enjoyed it. Jade went to start the car, and nothing the engine didn't even turn over! Will our good fortune never end? Me the mechanic i am told Jade to pop the Bonnet, I took a Glance Kicked the Bumper and said, "Yeah love it's fooked" hehe, (For you Whale). No i coulnt see anything wrong checked the battery, fine, This guy passed and Jade asked him for help. He looked at the battery, i said yeah i checked that mate, he twiddled the connection, and it all worked, he said it ws a loose connection. Upstaging me like that was unfair in my eyes but it was for the greater good, i'll let it slide. He did ask if we had any foil, obviously we didn't ah but the chocolate i here you cry, yup it saved the day, we had to eat the whole bar, but as i said for the greater good and all that. So eventually we were on our way and with no further mishap we got there. Lovely again, starting to get bored of all this beauty, lol. We messed about on the beach and in the sea, saw some jellyfish and quickly got out of the sea. We also made our little doodle with shells. We got up bright and early the next day and headed back to Christchurch, and jade saved a little hedgehog, nearlky getting killed by a massive truck in the process. We paid a visit to the Botanical Gardens 1. because it was free and 2. Carole, Jades Aunt used to take her when she was little. got a couple of photo's for you to peruse. Then off agin we went, about hundred k/m South of Christchusrch is Timaru where we spent the night, and they had this huge Jumping Pillow! It was such good fun. We tried to do flips and alsort's didn't do it very well but we are getting on a bit. Jade thought she had burst it because it started deflating, i being the honest one told her to pretend we hadnt noticed and to get into the tent, if anyone asked, it was like that when we got here, sort of thing. Jade being Jade had an attack of consience and insited on telling the owner, turns out it's on a timer and deflates at a certain time of night anyway, the relief for Jade was plain to see, funny but i suppose you had to be there. when broke camp and headed further South, not much further now, we went to see the Moeraki Boulders which are in loads of photo's that you by for your house and stuff, weird how round they were, and once agin were created by Volcanoes (I think). Oamaru today and we saw some more volcanic activity on a beach we went to look at penguins but there weren't any so we saw rocks instead, didnt really do antthing exiting so... Today we headed to the Otago Peninsula and a little place called Portobello we set up and tonight we felt we deserved a proper meal, went to a restaurant. I had Chicken with some stuff on it, gorgeous. Jade opted for Lamb Shank definetly the better option, Stomachs filled we headed back and watched the last episode of Heroes, boo!! We planned the rest of our trip, looks like we are going to cut Here and Australia a bit shorter so we can go and see more of asia, especially China and Thailand. We also saw the Worlds Rarest Penguin, the Yellow Penguin and the Blue penguin which is the smallest in the world, both wild, that was great stuff, we saw them really upclose and the guide was beside herself, saying that never happens, ever. Headed further south today, no more land left now, so we go West from now on. We slept on the beach agan, very good. Another day and today we are in Invercargill, not much happing, all the shops close at 4 p.m on a Saturday which struck us as odd. Did find my Irish bar for you mom though, Waxy o'sheas. we stopped in Invercargill and prepared to head into Fiordland, the place i have most looked foward to. We got there and i wasn't disapointed, its like its not really there, this mass of mountain sides surrounding you. we got some photo's i hope they can describe it better. We looked around and its all very peacefull apart from Milford Sound which was busier than Heathrow! serious, planes, helicopters, every 30 seconds, that kind of spoilt it a little, but it was still great fun. That pretty much brings us up to today. We are in Queenstown planning our activities, Jade with her skydive and me with the whitewater rafting, so i will let you know more on that soon enough i'm sure. Sorry this blog isnt as riveting as the rest but we have just been driving really thats about it, speak to you soon xxxxxxxxxxxxx
