This was our third trip to Sabaudia. We only ever went when it was cloudy or rainy or both. This time we waited till after 4:30pm so more of the shops would be open. It was great to spend some time with the kids. Again the small town with all its quaintness and charm was a pleasant place to spend the late afternoon. And of course before we left we spent some time at our regular little cafe.

Actually, it was a rather enjoyable bus ride overall. This was our first experience with the packed lunches prepared for us by the hotel. They were mostly bread with a few pieces of meat and/or cheese. Some complained that there was no mayonnaise, but that didn't bother me. I much prefer other condiments to mayo. Unless it's aioli. It was so refreshing to sleep every night with the doors and windows open facing the sea, lulled to sleep and awoken by the sound of waves crashing gently against the shore all through the night, the fresh sea air the only scent. I woke up several mornings and peaked out from our balcony to find a mountain scene that had taken shape as the sun began to rise behind us. Our first day of the Feast was filled with wonderful fellowship including two services, three meals, a walk on the beach, and cappuccinos after dinner. I've known Michael for a really long time.
