Well, these are our last few hours in the UK. It doesn't feel real that we'll be in New York City this time tomorrow, let alone that we're about to leave for 8 months and visit so many incredible places. I'm curious as to when it will actually sink in.

There have been a mixture of emotions so far tonight, with a family get together followed by the inevitable farewells. At the moment excitement is losing out to tiredness, so a few hours sleep are in order before our trip to the airport and the last of those farewells.

Our next update should be from New York, as long as the air traffic controllers stay awake!
