Our last day in New York was nice and lazy. We left the apartment around 11 in search of a deli serving hot pastrami sandwiches, as I HAD to have one before we left New York. Luckily we found one in the form of Zabar's on 80th st and Broadway. Since it was such a great day, We got our sandwiches to go and headed to Central Park to enjoy the sun. Day 3 in New York was another good one. In the morning I took Kevin's bike out and rode the greenway cycle lane down the West side of Manhattan along the Hudson from 71st st, round through Battery Park, over the Brooklyn Bridge and back over the Manhattan Bridge then up the East side of Manhattan, taking a detour through midtown and up through central park. We had another great day exploring more of the sights in New York today. We started off with breakfast in a cafe near the apartment before taking a walk up to the Natural History Museum. We must have got there at the right time because as we were leaving the queue was so long that it wound round the side of the building! We've had a very busy but enjoyable first day in New York. First off, we headed to the southern tip of Manhattan on the subway, and walked round Battery Park, taking in the view of the Statue of Liberty. We hadn't intended to go out to the Statue anyway, but seeing the 4000 mile long queue for the ferry decided it for us. Well we made it to New York... eventually. After a 4 hour delay in Amsterdam due to some technical problems with our plane, we finally got across the Atlantic and landed at JFK. We got the AirTrain and subway into Manhattan (complete with some interesting characters to keep us entertained) and made our way to Kevin and Natasha's apartment, which is really nice and in an excellent location.
