Our flight with Pacific Airlines to Ho Chi Minh City was good and very short.
Barry had requested a van to pick all of us up, but we could barely fit in. It seemed the van wasn't the only thing that was overbooked. When we got to our hotel, it, too, was full. David and Claudia had a room, but our reserved rooms weren't available. We were steered to another hotel across the road. This is starting to be a pattern. This time, however, it wasn't a more expensive hotel. Instead, it was a triple room for less money. We were fine with that, as the last two rooms had definitely been quite luxurious. This room was still much better than many of the places we've stayed at in the last 5 months. It included cable TV, clean sheets, clean bathroom, air-conditioning and a view out onto the busy alley we are on. Oh, and a spare mattress to put on the floor for Connor to sleep on.
We went out for supper with Claudia and David. We were a little disappointed with the limited selection on the menu, but when we got the food, it was excellent. We enjoyed visiting and then went back to our room to 'chillax'.
Awhile later, Claudia and David knocked on the door. They'd gone out for a drink and ended up paying Canadian prices for drinks (including a "Flaming Lamborghini"!) that wasn't even made correctly. They told us the story and we laughed. We then decided to play cards. Claudia and David were some of the best card players we've met on our trip, so it was easy and fun to play. The night flew by and suddenly it was 11:00 pm, so we went to bed to be ready for the next day.
