This morning, we booked ferries to Santorini and Mykonos with a return passage to Athens (Piraeus). Next, we returned to the Indian embassy with all of the required documentation. The only tricky part was not having a contact in Athens, so we decided to give the number of the travel agency that had been so helpful the day before. As we gave them Socrates' number, we crossed our fingers! Hoping that our little ruse would work, we headed over to ACTIVE travel where Socrates did an excellent job getting us reservations for our flights to Egypt, Kenya, and India; and Barry Russell entertained us with his stories and anecdotes. We gave Barry our Blog address, as he and his wife are off to Thailand for six weeks in December. He had a motorcycle accident earlier this year which had made him re-evaluate life, and he thinks what we're doing is great. We told him we'd have some good advice for him at the end of our time in Thailand. After ferries, flights, and visas, it was time to sightsee once more. Our wanderings included the Acropolis. The Dionysus Theatre was very special, especially to Margaret, because this is where DRAMA began!! The Parthenon was great, but surrounded with scaffolding because of ongoing restoration. The ancient Agora was very interesting and the Temple of Hephaestus was beautiful and, as Tessa pointed out, the only surviving ancient building in Athens with an intact roof! Afterwards, we wandered through Athen's Flea Market and made our way back to the restaurant of charming waiters (Tessa now loves tzatziki, thanks to our waiter's charm). We had some refreshments and at the end of our respite, the kids found our waiter to say good-bye. We ended with handshakes and kisses and the Lewis family all agreed we love Greece.
