Here is our rant about hostel living. We have had so few bad experiences that if you ever hear anyone put down hostel living, just steer them to our blog. As we approached our new hostel, we saw a huge lawn and a bunch of kids playing soccer, badminton etc. When we got in, we were greeted by a great lady who told us everything about the town, what to see, and how to get a break on many of the attractions. Our room was spotless, and we made our own beds with clean, crisp, newly washed and ironed sheets. Our room was across from clean bathrooms and showers. Breakfast was very inexpensive as were the other optional meals, and totally kid-friendly and cheap. We love hostel living!!!
Needless to say, we checked in and made our beds. The kids wanted to explore, and before long, they were playing basketball with four German kids. The evening ended with an hour long pick-up soccer game: English speaking vs. Germans (English won). After a mandatory (parent ordered) shower, the kids both got a pizza from the hostel bistro and we called it a night. Tomorrow, we will conquer the Zugspitze, a nearly 3000 metre high mountain!
