A gorgeous morning so we were downstairs by 8:30 am and off to the Angkor Wat Temples by 9:00 am. Our drivers were happy to see us and we decided to take two moto-requimes to the site. Many people think Angkor Wat is a temple but Siem Reap actually has many temples, Angkor Wat being the most famous. When we arrived, we bought 4 tickets ($20.00 per person) and from there, we visited Angkor Wat, Bayon, Baphoun, Elephant Terrace, Leper King Temple, ending this magnificent day with Bankong Phan for the sunset. Describing each of these places is impossible. Each temple is unique which makes sense as they were each built by different leaders at different times. However, each is breathtaking in and of itself. We only touched on the temples as there are many more. However, much of our world trip has been geared to give us a taste of different places so we can plan to return and Siem Reap is definitely worth a second visit.
Overall, it was a great day, though a little warm at times. We warned the kids it would just get hotter as we got closer to Australia. Templed out, we got home in the dark and spent the evening playing pool and darts, as well as booking places to stay in Laos.
