We departed sunny Mildura this morning about 10am, and immediately had to backtrack to return our amenities key - D'oh! The benefit was that Renee & Mum were able to go to the local Cafe to get some morning tea, so not all that bad. A bit of a long drive today, as we head to Echuca - by the time each traveller needs a toilet stop, sometimes it takes ages to make any headway. The first part of the drive we were in NSW, and the last part in Victoria, as the Murray River is the state border and we are following its path.
After a stop at the local Safeway for supplies at Swan Hill, we headed to the Riverside Park on the Murray River for a relaxing lunch, before continuing south-easterly. A quick afternoon stop at Cohuna allowed us to see a very fast flowing concrete weir. We arrived at Echuca around 5pm, and with lots of places to choose from, we settled on the Shady River Caravan Park, which is actually in Moama, NSW. Renee, Eamon & Mum enjoyed a swim while Dad setup the van and then joined us.
The Moama RSL Club was next door to where we are staying, so we had a lovely 2 course dinner there, and even got the courtesy bus home!
