We are in Singapore!!!!!!

Wow..... Can you believe it, we have finally completed the 1st stage of our trip!! It does not seem that long ago when i was struggling with the dogs in Thailand and close to skipping it but hay we have done it and what an amazing feeling it feels!!! So let me tell you what has happened since the 2/12 which was the last time i updated this journal and we were in PD!

Well the accommodation that we stayed at in PD was the worse! As you can see from the pictures i have already added you can see that the room was amazing tiny and what a horrible nights sleep.....we were eating alive by ants (would you believe) the bed was crawling with them.....lovely!

3/12 = so as you can imagine, the bed was not a nice place to be so as soon as the alarm went off at 5.30 we both shot up and dashed for the cold piddaly shower (you know, the one that hardley any water comes out so we had to unscrew the head to use as a little hose....nightmare and not best timing for me...im sure you know what i mean???) On the road for 6.45am it was still dark and we sat on the bike waiting for that little bit of sun to peer up so we could hit on the highway! What a fantastic days cycle!! The air was soo cool and we had finished 54.18 miles by noon. We felt great and still pumping with energy!! However we did find another short cut today which helped alot! Jonny had looked up on the internet the day before for somewhere to stay in Melaka so when we arrived that was the place that we were looking for!! Kancil Guest house! We found it and to our amazment the people who were looking after the lodge for a while were a dutch couple that we had met in Thailand on the ferry crossing from Koh Tao to the main land. It was so weird because we had both said that we were travelling to Malaysia and maybe we would bump in to them! And we did!!! Also the northern girls that we met in Cameron Highlands were there too so it was really nice to see those faces again!!

4/12-10/12 We stayed at Melaka for all this time. Im sure the locals thought we had just moved there hahahah. Bacially we did not do much. however we did meet some really cool people. not only did the hostel have walk in's it also had "intrepid" party group that came every Tuesday and Thursday. Telling lots of stories and everyone was interrested to hear how we got up Cameron Highlands!!! We did have a "day out" to Kuala Lumper We sat on a coach for 2hrs and we both sat looking at each other saying "god im so glad we are on a bike" haha It was a really good day, jonny struggled at times with the business but we had a few coffe breaks to chill down! Got to see the twin towers which was cool..got lots of piccys sorry to bore you all with them! we also went to the top of the telecommincations tower....3rd tallest in the world! We went in the lift which took us up 276 meters in 58 seconds that too was good...could feel our ears popping!! I also seen my 1st RAT today. Eating lunch and this big thing just popped out and looked at me with thee most curiously cute eyes ever! Im quite sure that if it was to run up to me i would have been on the table but from a meter distance it looked ok hahah! We also went on the Monorail....sky transport!!! that was fun and different! looking down at all the traffic below us! Coach journey back was long we got caught in a thunder storm so not so good but all safe!!

Had one horrible situation so far and it was in Melaka. We were walking around the night market and out of no-where this man came right up to jonny and said to him "give me a dollor man i need to eat" Jonny pushed him away and shouted "no" i didn't realise that the guy was asking him for money because people do invade your space alot over here also touching you to get attention. As soon as i seen jonny push him away i knew he was trouble! We had seen him a few days ago starting trouble, so we think he is a local trouble maker who picked the wrong people to mess with!!! Everything ok!!

11/12 - 29.57 miles We bumped into two touring cyclists today who also had Thron bikes! We stopped and had a chat with them. They had just started out in singapore and making there way up for India!! So we swaped journal address and will keep in contact!! Very white looking so i hope you guys have lots of suncreem with you coz its hot! We arrived in Muar and at the traffic lights this motorcyclist came up to us saying that he had seen up last week in Melaka and he wanted to show us a nice hotel in his home town! Really nice guy who left a note under our hotel door to day that he wanted to stay in touch read about our journy!

12/12 = 33.35 miles after having such a long time off we could really feel those muscles working today! Bums were killing.....the seats just arnt worn in enough... there are getting there though! Arrived at Batu Pathat.

13/12 = another day to spare before we got to singapore so we stayed for another night!

14/12 = 47.52 miles a really hot day today!! Once we got to hotel we seen two Bikes locked together and again Thorn Bikes (gosh that company has made alot and everyone has said that they got noooo discount) This coulpe cycled through europe had problems at Iran so had to fly to india and then singapore all the way to China very interresting!

15/12 = cycled 37.55 miles today to Johor Bahru Last full day in Malaysia!!

16/12 = We arrive in Singapore. Passports are all stamped again and as soon as we cycled across the causeway there was sooo many cyclists out doing there Saturday exercise! everyone with race bikes and skinny tires all in lycra! Found guest house...Betal box which has free internet and we have a whole dorm to us as they saved it for us!!! very cool. went for a walk and went into a cycle shop and asked if they had any spare boxes that we could have and they did......so we are sorted with boxes and ready to pack as soon as ready for our flight to Sydney on the 20th!!!
