Way hay.... We made it!! we have crossed the border into Malaysia. Both passports have been stamped and accepted with no problems!!!
before i carry on, let me tell you what happened after the 10/11...
11/11 = we woke up bright and breezy and were on the road for 7.30am. At the beginning we got chassed by a few dogs but i was ok about it.....Jonny on the other hand is now more scared than me, he starts shouting at them and speeds up lots on the bike hahah. We done 40 miles today and got to Hat Yai. We have bought some water bottles and fill them up with ice and mix water with a small tropicana as we are both sick of drinking warm water! Although the ice does not last for long its long enough for us!!! Found a nice hotel and stopped there for the night. We got there for 1.30 so we had the rest of the day to chill out and explore the town! We ended walking for ages, in markets and shops and so on and by this time we were starving so you would never believe what we splashed out on........a KFC hahahaha it was soooo nice. We got a take away and took it back to the hotel were we sat and scoffed, dipping our chicken in to mayo and chill sauce. We felt terrible after and said that we wont do that again!!!
12/11 = rest day! we went out and had coffee and walked around the markets. The markets were amazing there and the fruit was unbelievable, different colours, smells and the roasting chesnuts looked lovely! Clothes are in need of a good washing mashine with hot water!!!
13/11 = (mums Birthday) 31.21 miles to a town called sadeo. This was our last full day in Thailand as tomorrow we cross the border in to another country. We found a lovely place to stay and we asked the lady if she would wash our clothes for us if we paid for it......and she did! We picked our clean clothes up the next day at 7.00am!!!!
14/11 = we cycled to the border!!! It was a bit hectic at first but once the passports were all stamped we were ready to get back on the bike an head for Altor Star! 41.13 miles. Straight on the E1 motorway which was a bit dodgy at first as there was no hard shoulder but the road was lovely to cycle along! When we got there we had this guy come up to us trying to help find us accommadation but then turned in to a bit of a pain and would not leave! Once he got the hint that we wanted to go off and look for something ourselves he left and we found a hotel called the Grand Crystal. Bit posh for us travellers but it had to do as we were knackered! First bath since we have been away and it was great.....sooo much nicer than a cold shower! (mind you i do crave for a cold shower now and then and wish at times that it would just chuck it down with rain when on the bike) Jonny had made some jelly as we had a kettle in the room and a fridge and it was the jelly that we got in Bangkok.....it was soooo nice!
People still seem friendly, maybe not as freindly as Thailand but the bike does get a lot of attention!! People's jaw drop when we cycle past them its really cool and we just wave and smile and cycle on!!!
15/11 = 38.36 miles cycled on down to Sungi Petteni. Found a stunning place to stay! Golf and Country resort a bit like Centre parcs. It is the most expensive place so far. It had a swimming pool which we both dived in to as soon as we could! We both got a bit irritable with each other as we were both knackered!! But all is good now!! It can be hard at times but we both knew that.... but considering we are having a fantastic time and only when we get hungry or sleepy we get a bit moody!!!
16/11 = cycled 30 odd miles today to a place we are stopping for a while!! George town it is a island on the west of Malaysia!! There is a long bridge that goes from one side to the main land and its 13.5km long!! We got the boat over to George town but we will diffinately cycle over it to the main land!! Found a YMCA were we have stopped and will be stopping for 3days. Quite a few things to do here so we are going to take time out and chill! Hostel is really good and cheap with breaky included!!
17/11 = Went for a walk around the town today!! really hot and sticky. There is a mixture of Malay and indian here and they have an indain town we went for a walk around and had a curry dish for lunch which was lovely!! Oh yeah i forgot to mention that Malaysia is 1 hour ahead of Thailand which was really weird when we crossed the border!! so we are now 8 hours ahead of GMT!!
Hope everyone is well please send us an email or leave a message on our message board we get really excited when we log in to see who has contacted us!! Take care and we send lots of love all the way from Malaysia xx
