Today we borrowed the car and went went to visit Mooloolaba, which is just over an hour north of Brisbane. After a wander around the shops we resorted back to our favourite backpackers lunch.... homemade picnic on the beach. Today we were on school drop off duty, so Char had to ensure that all 3 children were ready on time!! After dropping Amelie and Maisie at school we got our head around the bus timetable and headed into the city. This morning was started with a wander around the local market at the girls school. The sun was shinning, the entertainment was great, the food was delicious and we were spending the day with our two favourite girls!! After a walk around the rainforest close to Tamborine Mountain we continued to The Bearded Dragon pub for a BBQ, live music and a reptile show (which Char ran away from). Today we had a road trip to Coolangatta, which is about 1hour south of Brisbane. The day was spent on the beach surfing and building a beach jacuzzi for the girls (see pictures). The girls caught some excellent waves..... us not so great! The beach is so much more exciting with kids - it sometimes looks a little bit strange acting like kids when there are no kids!! After an early morning Greyhound we arrived in Brisbane. With an hour or so to kill before meeting Uncle Stu we grabbed some lunch and read up on the city in Anzac Square.
