So as I said I am now in Broome, WA. There is not much to do here and it's really hot so I find myself lazing about trying not to spend my hard earned cash. The first day I explore the (tiny) town centre nicknamed 'chinatown' and the next day I went to Cable Beach which clearly is the best thing about Broome, miles upon miles of beautiful white sand and blue blue sea! Got a bit sunburnt (I don't know how seeing as I was wearing SPF 30, mum knows best!) on the top of my legs which was annoying! I met a german girl in my hostel and we went to the 'worlds oldest' open air cinema here to see Hairpsray. I already went to the deckchair cinema in Darwin but it was still a cool experience. The best bit had to be when the planes landed at Broomes international airport which is just 2 roads behind from the cinema, it was so loud and the planes were so low coming into land everyone in the cinema was in hysterics after. I mean who would think to build and open air cinema in the landing path of an international airport??! But then I realised the cinema was built first in 1916. So yesterday I didnt do much either as I think I'd exhausted all of Broomes cheap things to do. I just have today and again going around town and then I leave tomorrow to stay at pardoo cattle station for one night and the to Karijini national park then arrive in exmouth on thursday which I hear is just as exciting as Broome is but I am condsidering spending some of my hard earned cash doing my PADI dive course (I'm told $600, just under 300 quid) because I really want to do it and apparently the ningaloo reef is beautiful.
