Chilling, the largest infinity pool in Tahiti, the end of an awesome week

Our Adventure Summarised:

After an awesome 6 days in pure paradise we sadly had to bid farewell to Bora Bora and we jumped on a plane from Bora Bora to Papeete, the capital of Tahiti. We would only have the afternoon in Papeete before departing on an early flight the next morning to Auckland, New Zealand then on to Brisbane, Australia and then our final destination where we would arrive a good 40 hours later being Sydney, Australia.

Papeete is the largest city and the capital of French Polynesia and unlike the islands is not a tropical paradise but more of a government centre and industrial port with small doses of French and Polynesian charm.

Papeete does however have shopping, eating and drinking but very little sightseeing for a capital city so we decided to spend the last of our days in Tahiti lounging by the pool and catching up on what had been happening in the world during our stay in paradise.

We were picked up from the airport by our tour operator and driven to our hotel for the evening, the Manava Suite Resort. Our hotel had just been completed a few months previous to our arrival so everything was immaculate and very modern with the only disappointment being the mosquito infested bathroom and the lack of a proper shower.

We were however greeted with a complimentary bottle of champagne, a very large hotel suite and the hotel also boasted Tahiti's largest infinity pool complete with bar stools in the pool and a view out onto the ocean. Not bad, not bad at all.

We spent the afternoon having lunch at the pool and lazing about before heading back to the room and popping the champagne before heading out to the hotel restaurant for our final farewell dinner for an absolutely amazing time in French Polynesia!
