Set alarm clock for 5.30 as pick up was 6.15 from New York New York but got a wake up call from the tour company at 5.06 am.
Met at the New York and got on bus and advised that we were going to the tour company office to check in. Here there were a few hundred people and we all gaston line up and check in.
The bus trip was about 2.5 hrs with a stop at Hoover Dam along the way. Most people slept along the way including me. What I did see though was lots of nothing, but the ground is a lot greener than I thought it would be for a dessert.
Stopped at Hoover Dam. Was pretty good great views.
Back on bus and now to Grand Canyon. Stopped about 40 mins from the canyon to change buses as all dirt road from their.
Finally got to the Grand Canyon. Thee are 3 spots to look at through the tour as well as optional Helicopter and Boat ride and Sky walk. I had the The helicopter, boat and skywalk so I could only go to 2 of the spots which was ok as the 3rd was a cowboy ranch.
The helicopter was first so all that were doing this had to go into an area to line up. This was really busy and I had to wait about 45 mins for my helicopter. Finally got on it and it was great, really good only about 5 mins but great experience and the views from down the bottom were awesome. Did the boat ride then which went down the river about 10 mins and back. Then helicopter back to the top.
By the time got back to the top it was just after 2 pm and my bus left at 3.30 pm so had to rush the next 2 things. First was the skywalk. This wasn't as good as I thought it would be. Didn't go out that far and you got the same feeling from standing on the edge of the canyon anyway. Next was another lookout and lunch. Lunch was supposed to be a traditional Indian meal but it was just shredded beef, rice and beans and mashed potato but by that time anything would have done. There was another lookout here which was pretty good. Views are fantastic.
After this rushed back to catch the bus home.
Got back about 7 pm. Went tithe ticket office at MGM to see about boxing tickets but it was sold out so had some dinner and called it a night.
