we finaly made it out of the haunted town known as Colac! we are now in the Otways, which is a huge forested area, prety damn amazing if you ask me! the hostel is awesome, its right on the beach and surrounded my rain forest. theres loads of parots and other exotic birds flying round every where! my bed is the best in the place, you go into the dorm and then you have to go up a ladder into an attic space and my bed is the top bunk right by the window, so i woke up this morning with an awesome view of the forest and to the sound of tropical birds!

not much happened on the way from Colac, we made a slight detour to a waterfall so I could put my head under it, the wter there was quite stagnant though, what with the lack of rain and all! so we drove to Lorne (a place that i recommend to everyone) in about 2 hours. as soon as we arrived some germans had made too much BBQ food so we sat down with them and cracked open a create of tasmanian beer - the rest of the night is bleary. we met loads of new people, including greg - a 44 year old gay librarian from geelong, he was the funiest guy in the world! I dont think Ive ever laughed so much, he wasnt very world wise and kept coming out with stuff like "man this is better than staying home with my cats!" and "I should ring my mum and tell her how awesome this is!". I think we will spend a night at his house in Geelong.

so thats about it for yesterday, we have decided to stay here today and do some fishing, see the waterfalls, surfing - so we booked another night.
