Get your motor runnin'
Head out on the highway
it was time to don our helmets for one last ride. getting up early, Laura and I, rented too beautiful bikes and head out in search of some fun. we've now left the isalnds and are in the province of Krabi, it has the knid of scenery that comes to mind when your day dreaming at work. large lumps of rock covered in greenery jut from the landscape alongside white sandy beaches.
Lookin' for adventure
And whatever comes our way
we hit the motorways at an eye watering 30 KPH, we were free, we could go anywhere and do anything - there was no stopping us! but first we needed petrol, which was kindly supplied by a strange woman at the side of the road who seemed 20% sure that it was a good idea to put an odd coloured liquid into our engines.
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
we were off agian, sun glasses on, the roar of power from our 50cc motors was unnerving but we had enough skill between us to harness the awesome force! it quickly became aparent that there was something wrong with my stomach, another woman at the side of the road offered a solution. we ate and all was well with the world. im telling you this now, you will get teh best food in thaialnd off the side of the road (dont just pick it up off of the road, actually buy it from someone!).
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space
on our way again...it was certainly hard to communicate over the roar of our engines, but it was nice to have a brake from lauras nagging (dont worry laura, people will know Im only joking)! following signs in thailand is not the easiest thing in the world but we were soon on the trail of a national park, with waterfalls, greenery and other such beauty.
I like smoke and lightning
Heavy metal thunder
the adventure of being completly lost in a foreign country was thrilling, at times the directional signs would dissapear completly, leaving us at junctions with no direction...being a man i didnt need sings, i could practicaly smell the way!
Racin' with the wind
And the feelin' that I'm under
after two hours of riding our hogs we found the national park. it took 30 minutes to check out the waterfall and get back on the road. a small sign caught our attention, so we went off roading down a small dirt track to find the promised caves. finding a dead end ddint put me off exploring further, finding a sign which had dislodged and was now upside down still didnt put me off, finding a collapsed bridge made me think of turning back!
Yeah Darlin' go make it happen
Take the world in a love embrace
next port of call was the 'hot springs' - surely they cant be that hot...good god they were hotter than a dark surface thats flown close to the sun - and i mean close to the sun! i took to the challenge like a man, dipping my feet in quickly was enough to show bravado! laura went swimming.
Fire all of your guns at once
And explode into space
fish therapy was also on the menu at the hot springs, hundreds of tiny fish nibble your feet. not exactly my idea of fun, just seemed like they were trying to train maneating fish - whatever floats your boat i guess.
Like a true nature's child
We were born, born to be wild
it was soon time to head home, jumping on our bikes the signs were nonexistant for Ao Nang where we are staying. we had to reply on my man sense of direction. it wouldnt have been so bad if god hadnt decided to water the jungle. torrential rain made us pull over as visibility turned to 0. soaked through to the bone we promptly got lost, ending up in a thai village somewhere. i think laura might of driven up front for a whilem hence how we got lost...it couldnt have been my fault!
We can climb so high
I never wanna die
the rain kept coming and coming, stinging pretty hard as it bounced off my fragille - i mean manly - skin. but do not fear! after an hour of driving we found the way home and are now suffering with hangovers...dont feel pitty, its completly self-inflicted! and now we are heading to bangkok, I just thought i would leave you all this quick story of friendship and hardship. soon be time for home :(
Born to be wild
Born to be wild
p.s. can you gues what song i was singing for the whole hog ride?
