Pancakes for brekkie again! I love them.
Got up late this morning as we're in no rush for a change. We've got a fairly easy going plan for the next couple of days. Checked out and went to get the car, hoping that there wasn't a ticket for something else!

We took a drive to Little Italy. It's only a small area, bit it's still pretty nice with a few small traditional pizzerias and a couple of upmarket Italian restaurants. We ate at a traditional place and it was pretty cheap. Two big slices of pizza and a soft drink for $6.50 (£4). Really nice as well.

Then we drove out to Old Town. It's supposed to be the first settlement in California. There's lots of nice mexican restaurants and bars just outside the Old Town site. Then there's Old Town itself with lots of old traditional buildings, then some new buildings that are traditional western looking. There's a big old courtyard area too where they have live music and dancing on a night plus some more nice restaurants. We didn't realise how nice it is here and really wish we had stayed here a night for all the music and dancing etc, but we've booked tonight's accommodation which is a few hours away from here.

From there we drove out to Conorado, which is an island just of the coast, accessed by a huge curving bridge. It's really nice there too. Nice shopping street and then a beach - too cold for the beach today though. We were supposed to drive right down this long coastal road but there had been an accident so we couldn't. Instead, we drove back onto the mainland to see a big old ship called the Indian Star. It was built in the Isle of Man. Then we went to see the USS Midway which is one of those massive aircraft carriers. It's absolutely huge.

We really enjoyed San Diego. We didn't know a great deal about it, but really glad we just went down for a couple of days to check it out, definitely worth it!

It took just over 2 hours to drive to Anaheim. We got to Comfort Inn, but had a problem checking in. They couldn't find our booking. Turned out I'd took us to the wrong hotel. We're not even staying in this city, and we're not even staying in this hotel chain!! We've looked at too much stuff, it all gets confusing!

Managed to get to the right place!
