We left left the hostel in Christchurch at 8:30 and headed for the airport.
We left Christchurch airport at 10:20 arrived in Auckland at 11:40,
we left Auckland 16:10 and arrived in Santiago at 11:30,
we left Santiago 16:50 and arrived in Ecuador 21:05.
After queuing an hour for customs we took a 3 hour taxi ride to Montanita.
The flight between Christchurch and Auckland was only 1 hour and 20 mins.
The flight between Auckland and Santiago was 11 hours and 20 mins.
The flight between Santiago and Ecuador was 5 hours and 15 mins.... It was a long day!
We spent 17 hours and 55 minutes in the air and 16 hours and 50 minutes waiting in airports and travelling between flights!
We were so exhausted when we arrived. We'd left New Zealand 8:30 Monday 8th and arrived at out cabana in Ecuador Tuesday 9th at 1am...
Aaahhh all these numbers basically mean we travelled for just under 35 hours but because of the time difference we only lost 16 hours travelling!
It was so exciting when got on the plane to Santiago. All the announcements were in Spanish first then in English. When we got to Santiago the announcements were only in Spanish. It wasn't too bad because the notice boards in the airport were easy to read. In Chile they speak so fast it was tough to listen for numbers never mind translate. It was like one long word when they spoke.
When we got to Ecuador we arrived at customs and the man said 'ah Coronation Street' he didn't speak English but he could recognise a northern accent?
As soon as we opened the door to our cabana we set our alarms and passed out.
