This is going to be a brief blog as the pictures that have just been posted describe each site we visited on our 4 day guided tour of Katherine, Litchfield and Kakadu National Park. I'm going to try to arrange them in the order that we visited/saw them so they will hopefully tell the story.
We are currently still in Darwin but are hoping to leave here tonight. We bought a campervan 3 days ago as we decided hostel life was not suited to us at this stage. We have already spent 3 days and nights in our new home and are hopeful this will be the best solution for seeing Australia within the 6 month time frame.
It is a little Toyota Hi-top Camper which has the basics like a fridge, 2 ring gas stove and grill, small sink, and a table and chairs that converts into a bed in the evening. It also has room in the top alcove for another person should we meet anyone along the way that desperately needs a getaway for whatever reason.
It's 'cosy' and I'm sure will be a tester of our relationship at times, but we are both hopefull it will work out fine for our needs. A big draw back is not having a toilet or shower but all the campsites we have stopped at so far have been fine and have all the facilites you need. I keep checking for spiders and other critters but thankfully so far have not come accross anything that nasty. No doubt our time will come but I am trying really hard to confront my fears by embracing all animals and wildlife we have seen so far to acclimitise myself to the natural beings that live in this country.
We will post a picture of our new home in the next blog and give a full update of where we have been and what we have been doing.
