Law & Stu's Honeymoon Adventure
The last few weeks of our honeymoon adventure were pure paradise.
First stop Kho Phi Phi where we spent our days chilling on the most amazing beach and our evenings spent getting hideously drunk on "buckets". Took a day trip to Maya beach where the film was shot, it was stunning but must admit it was ruined by the boast loads of tourist all wanting to take a picture on the infamous sands! Did some more snorkeling in the warm, crystal clears waters and spotted loads of marine fish, the most vibrant colours - just as amazing as the Great Barrier Reef. Our final stop on the trip was to monkey island where we had the opportunity to hand feed wild monkey's.
Our bungalow in Phi Phi was great - up high on the hill side with all the basics including a TV which came in very handy when I was suffering with the worst hangover EVER (following a wild night on buckets with a South African couple) and spent the whole day in bed watching film after film. Also had a real nice pool and the hotel staff where so friendly.
Our next stop was a boat ride to Krabi but when we got there we decided not to stay and instead headed off for Railay on a long tail boat. OMG, Railay is unbelievable - one of our most fav destination, perfect for a honeymoon. Stayed in the View Point resort in a fab bungalow with the most amazing views. Railay was ace, spent our days either by the pool or on the beach and our evenings at the Flametree bar where you get the best views of the sunset - the best sunset I have ever seen and am ever likely to see - the guide book describes it as orgasmic and there not far off!
Spent a day in Ao Nang buying loads of tat and watched some Thai boxing and also made a complete idiot of myself by getting up at an open mic session at a bar in Railay and sang Wonderwall to Stu! Dont think ill give up my day job, but two girls did come over after and said how it nearly made them cry.................... I think it was a complement!!!!!!!! Also had a few more Thai massages which are the best way to unwind after a hard day of sunbathing!
Ive become an addict of Thai Green Curry - cant believe its taken me this long to try it but over here its the most mouth watering meal that leave you wanting more, more, more!
Our last day was spent back in Bangkok where we took a day trip to the floating markets - bought even more tat, then to Kanchanaburi to see the bridge over the river Kwai and finally to the Tiger Temple where we had our photo's taken with loads of tigers. You get right up close to them and they let you stroke there belly, it was fab. That day we also got soaked by the locals as it was the Thai Songkran festival where tradition is to have a massive water fight - EVERYONE was throwing buckets of water, the atmosphere was wicked and everyone got involved.
Cant believe we're home now - it sucks
Our 3 months away have been indescribably amazing - I cant imagine having never experienced this, it's almost life changing, really helps you put things into perspective. Our only hope now is that we will be able to re-live this moment in time once again. We've already started saving for our next trip but alas it wont be for quite as long. I can't imagine ever going on a package holiday again, there is soooo much more to see than the confines of a beach resort - OFF EXPLORING rocks!
THE END (boo hoo)
