Hello from Alaska....We made it. I think a bit of jet lag has come and we are slow moving even though the time here is is only 7:45pm. That is about 11:45 back home
The limo picked us up at 4:00am and then our trip has been ongoing pretty much since.
We flew to Chicago first and had a 2 hour layover. We were lucky enough to have the seats near the emergency doors and took our job for this leg of the trip very seriously by reading the pamphlet on how to bust open the door!! - Mason you would have been proud! - Even the stewardess commented on our dillegence (Plus there was tons of leg room) From there we boarded our plane to head up to Anchorage. It was just into the flight when we found out that there would be no audio or visual entertainment!!! 6 hours - no music or movies Thank goodness we both had books to read and I-pods to listen to!
There was this fella on both planes that seemed to defy everything he was told about standing and walking around when we were to be strapped in. Kelly pondered - what would Mason do?
(Trudy, Kelly wants you to know this Mason is not you!!)
We decided that she would take him down, demand he remain seated while Fiddy just rolled her eys...lol
Yep - it was long trip!!
Upon arrival in Anchorage - we found a cab to take us to the hotel. Kevin, our cab driver was originally from New York - which was pretty obvious when he started talking. He was informative and had some suggestions for places to eat, explained how the streets work with letters and numbers. (Numbers run East to West and Letters run North to South)
So we ventured out for dinner to "Humpy's" a typical bar and grill where we enjoyed the biggest cheeseburger and so delicious!! We tried another local beverage of choice (we had one at the hotel too) with our burger.
It was a very long day and an early night and I am actually finishing this blog at 6:00am our time.
I see the photos went out ahead of schedule before I could label anything - oh well! Learning curve...lol. Kelly just woke up now so I guess shower and breakfast will begin our day!!

Jolene Ha! great start!
shar didnt you wedge yourselves into those suits like kelly and jan had for the jet lag. I still cannot get the thought of them changing into them in the airport bathroom out of my head. They are going to have to pay for my therapy lol.
Laurie Thankfully neither of us thought of doing such a thing. As a result we will still enjoy each other's company for years to come :) lol
