I AM NEVER KAYAKING AGAIN! So i'm in hanoi in vietnam after spending some time in hong kong which i didn't love, however i do really like hanoi. It;s very bustling during the day but not at all during the night. Last night i went with an american guy we met here to find a cool karaoke to go to, and we got taken up into a 'special' private booth where we we going to sing karoke to 2 girls...interesting. So we left! It was so funny, so we went somewhere else and the same thing happened! Apparently no-one goes clubbing here they just do karoke....now i know why! A couple of days ago we went on a trip to halong bay where you spend 2 days and 1 night on a boat. It was sooo much fun. We saw caves, jumped off the boat and swam in the sea (although i walked down the ladder!), chilled on the top deck, had amzing food and fab cabins......and went kayaking. So as i'm sure you all now i'm not a lover of water but thought i'd do it anyway. I was with laura in a kayak and kt was with the instructor while dani opted out (clever girl!). What they had failed to tell us was it was kayaking for 2 hours passing through strong currents! We were ages behind the others and drifting out to sea. I was s***ting myself and it seemed like we weren't getting anywhere so i was shouting for someone to come and help us. Meanwhile laura thoght it wsa really funny but all that was going through my head was we're going to drift out to sea, capsize and drown. So eventually we got passed the rocks into a cove where there was no current and my mini panic attack was over. In the cove there were lots of jellyfish and the cove was actually really lovely. Nevertheless i am NEVER KAYAKING AGAIN! My whole body aches today :( This afternoon we're flying to hoi'an which is meant to be really beautiful. Much love, L xxxx
