Afternoon All!
Just a short blog to let you know about our last few days in Thailand before we head for Laos tomorrow.
As Lou said we headed up to Pai on Wednesday afternoon, its a short 3 hour drive round 762 bends which actually made one of the Thai ladies sick, so we were happy to arrive safely with food in our bellies! The veiws coming into Pai are incredible, you drive through the hills and all you can see for miles are more and more hills covered in lush green jungle.
Pai a.k.a 'Hippie Town' is the most chilled out place, once we got off the bus not one person approached us to try and take us somewhere or get in a taxi which is completely unheard of! We just wandered around the streets until we found a nice room by the river.
WARNING *The next part of this blog is not for the faint hearted, if you do not wish to read please continue to the stars...now*
On our second day me and Lou decided we wanted to explore Pai a bit further, and with all the hills what better way to get around than by motorbike!!! Please do not worry I am clearly still alive and so is Louise..just, (only kidding).

We drove to the Hot Springs which were amazing, just like getting into a hot bath, a waterfall where some Thai guys may or may not have been trying to steal our bags and Pai Canyon which had the most incredible veiw. We also of course went to visit the temple on the hill which I hae tio say was a slight disappointment, but again great veiws.
Yesterday was the most fun though as we went for an elephant ride for an hour and a half. At first it was terrifying, nothing but a bit of rope between having a great elephant ride and cracking your skull open. But once the guide got off and I got to sit on its head we started to relax. We then got taken down to the river and the into the river! I am sure the elephant loved throwing us off better than bananas! Getting back on was the funny part though, our guide was gesturing to us to climb on, but the current of the river was so strong and the elephant, well the size of an elephant it was all a bit too much! After several more times of falling back into the river we eventually made it back on and had a nice ride back to camp.
We spent the evenings listening to live music (mainly jazz) and the mornings eating cream cheese bagels! Pai has to be one of the most beautiful chilled out places in the world and we are sad to leave, but excited about going to a new country. We will upload some pictures when we get a chance so you can see for yourselves.
Please do not become alcoholics in our absence, which sounds like a danger at the moment. We will be back soon and don't want to have to check you into rehab! All our love Lauren and Louise xxx
