Landed in Bangkok at 4ish Saturday, got a bus (and a map). Fell asleep on the bus and luckily this kind lady asked us where we were stopping so we just about woke up in time to get off in the right(ish) place and walked to our hotel, a little bit hot in the sweltering heat. Then had a meeting, a (much needed) shower :P and went out for dinner. Food is "interesting" but mostly really lovely!! Spending the week with a lovely group of people 11 girls and 1 guy all from English speaking countries,

Sunday, we got approached by a tuk-tuk driver and decided to give it a go, it was different.....to say the least, probably won't do that again for a while! Then we took the sky train (an overground "underground" train) to the weekend market (15000 stalls!). Sat in a lovely garden after it got a little hot! Then the sky train and a more comfortable, cheaper taxi back. Had a lovely warm swim back at the hotel :) We went to the station and sat and had tea out of plastic containers in the middle of the station floor and then boarded the "sleeper" train.... Obviously got no sleep though!!

We got off the sleeper train at 7am, after 12hours, tired and confused. Then got a bus to Ao Nang and headed straight to the beach for a swim (absolutely gorgeous setting btw) but Jen got stung by a jellyfish within about a minute!! Luckily a kind lady helped her with some herbs and convinced most of the group (except for Lauren) to go and have a massage. We all sat having a massage in a beach hut as a storm came over and got to watch and listen to the rain drip off the roof! The storms are very spectacular!

Had the best day yet, today! Managed to go on a group speedboat trip around the islands. Went to Phi Phi where "The Beach" was filmed and past the setting for "The Man with the Golden Gun". Stopped and snorkelled in the most amazing bays and saw hundreds of fish (and a jelleyfish- we left the water pretty quickly after that!) Had a very rough journey back at 40mph, getting away from the fast approaching storm!

Having a brilliant time, happy but tired! Even washed our own clothes in the sink, we're growing up fast! Thanks to Annie's random comment of the day and Chevy's joke of the day to keep us amused! Will update you again soon, planning an exciting day tomorrow for the last day in Thailand!
