Yesterday we made it to Pai! Our bus was supposed to pick us up between 9.30 and 10, but ended up arriving at 9! Luckily we had decided to get up early to get some breakfast so we were just about to walk out the door to our room when the lovely lady from reception knocked to let us know someone was there to pick us up!
It was a really quick journey and we arrived after 3 hours, giving us most of the day in Pai. We had heard it was a bit of a rough trip, but apart from some pretty windy roads it wasn't too bad!
We didn't do that much in the afternoon, just enjoyed the garden that is at our guesthouse and had a wander around the town. We went out in the evening for food and a little walk through the night market, which was a lot more chilled than the last two we have been to! Pai in general is just a lovely and relaxed place! We ended the night with a few drinks and headed off to bed as we had planned to rent a bike and see some of the places to visit around Pai.
This morning we actually slept in and by the time we got moving we decided to just have a quiet day. I had about somewhere called fluid, which has a public pool so we headed there about 11ish and spent the whole day there! It was nice to just sit around in the sun and have a little swim. We have made a bit of a plan for the next couple of weeks so I also booked ahead for our next few stops, meaning I don't have to worry about looking at accommodation! We have decided to go back to Chiang Mai for a night, so we are not rushing ourselves trying to find our way to Sukhothai.
We are getting a bit of an early one tonight so we can get up and sort out bus tickets and rent a bike to actually do something in Pai before we leave. However, the route we are planning means we drive by fluid to get back into town so I wouldn't be surprised if we end up there again!
