Sydney well we arrived in Sydney at the wrong time as it was world youth day for nearly the whole time we were there. We wondered around Sydney our first day just learning to get around the city. Its a lovely city colder than up north but we arrived on a bright sunny day so that made up for the coldness. On our second day we joined in with the pilgrams and walked over Sydney harbour bridge. they had closed it to the traffic so we were able to walk with the thousands along the bridge singing hymns. That night it was smurf night in the Gaff a backpacker bar. So we covered ourselfs in blue body paint that took days to get off! For a smurf night it was good fun and worth it as we got very cheap drinks for dressing up!
We moved hostels next day to a much nicer one more central. Then done some tourist sites the Sydney opera house the harbour bridge took hundreds of photos of them from all different angles. Walked alonge the botanical gardens to another view point and took more photos. Wondered round the Rocks, this is where the first settlers arrived in Sydney. Bought some uggs.
After an early night as we get breathalysed for the bridge climb. It was lucky for us a beautiful sunny day very windy though. Especially at the top of the Harbour bridge. It was amazing Liz made it to the top without tripping up! To enjour the view. We do look like boys in our photos they took as you will all soon see. We enjoyed the climb so much that we then climbed the pylon and took some of our own photos of the view.
Most of our nights we spent in the Gaff as we got our free dinner there and drinks. We did ventur further one night to Bondi and danced the night away in what they called a club Bondi beach hotel. I got a bit drunk suffered very much the next day our last day in Sydney after eating a Hungery jacks (burger king) never eat one i warn your. So on our Coogee walk to Bondi the next day i had to give in and get the bus, i did very well though considering i felt like laying down on a bench like a homeless person.
We got to Bondi it was nice beach but not as great as it would be in the summer. Especially how it looks in there bondi rescue tv programe we watched here. but we been on bondi beach. Left Sydney for the worst greyhound bus ride we've had. It would be as it was our last one and they had been so good so far. 12 hours later after sitting next to each other not really sleeping and with the worst bus driver we made it to Melbourne.
