BUNBURY, CANAL ROCKS AND MARGARET RIVER
So I am away from Perth for a 5 day little trippy... Yesterday I had to get up at around 5 am which hasn't happened in a good 3 months so that was difficult. We piled on the bus and I fell asleep immediately which is OK because we were just driving through suburbs and more suburbs until I woke up again and didn't know where I was. And my ass was numb. So altogether, not a good start! But I ate a snickers and felt better. God bless chocolate.
First stop was in Bunbury, a building about dolphins, which had boards full of info and a spot where you stand and look out for dolphins in the bay. No luck. Then we went to a town called Busselton which featured the longest jetty in the southern hemisphere. Just imagine all the jetties you have ever seen stapled together and you pretty much have it.
Then we clambered all over Canal Rocks, which was really beautiful but we had to watch out for king waves, freak waves that wash people off the rocks that you can't see coming... so in the end, it wouldn't actually matter if we were looking for them or not....
The bus got to Margaret River late in the afternoon, and we went straight to the beach to watch the surf contest! Unfortunately I fell asleep pretty much immediately, lying there on the cliff in the sun. Not my fault really. We were then deposited at the backpackers' in town, showered, cleaned and went to THE PUB for food, chatting, live music and beer.
