LIFE HERE
It's been about two months here in Fremantle.
For those who don't know, I live with Tenille otherwise known as T-dawg, her mum and sister in a lovely house in South Fremantle.
I work in a bar called the Newport, several nights a week, where most time is spent opening Coronas and pouring Jacks and Coke. Sometimes I get to make interesting shots like squashed frogs and pickled brains. And once I made a shaker with Sprite in it, and while I was shaking it up the top came off because of the gas and the drink went everywhere.
Wednesday nights are student nights. This means hundreds of mohawk-sporting teens and twenty-somethings elbowing each other and forking out $2.50 for a middy in 10 and 20 cent coins. We also have live bands playing the same five songs way too loud.
But as much as I complain, I actually love it, the people I work with are great and after the bar shuts, everyone leaves and we have hosed everything down we all sit around, have staffies and chat. Sometimes we get pizza and/or a massage. I usually have to hunt for a ride home. And on Saturday nights, we drag each other to our local club, the ever seedy Metro's to continue drinking and then tear up the dance floor. It's genius.
During the days, while T-dawg is at uni/work, I usually wake up quite late (I'm allowed to! I work late!) and I've gone into Perth a couple times, been to the beach a lot, and probably been to every single shop in Fremantle. I worked at a surf shop for a bit, but left that job because my boss was cutting down my hours and basically there was nothing for me to do. But I was there long enough to save up money and buy a new camera!
Yes, I lost mine. Seb was happy about that because it meant I would take fewer horrible pictures of him. But now I'm BACK and the pictures will be better than ever!
