The Canadian boys and I decided to go to Nha Trang together, so we took the night bus. I was slightly edgy about this, because Vietnam has notorious drivers and a very high road death toll... but I'm still here so nothing bad happened!
The ride started off at about 18.00 when we were hit with a huge downpour which actually made the driver slow down! Shocking! The seats were very snug, but there was a chance to lie flat so I won't complain about that. The driver beeped endlessly throughout the night, waking us up every time. I woke up at around 5 in the morning, and was staring out the window minding my own business when our genius driver hits the brakes harder than you can imagine and narrowly avoids a collision with another mega-bus. Everyone was jerked awake by this, and I saw it happen it was quite scary! Especially seeing as if he had swerved a little more to the left we would have ended up in a giant ditch.
Anyway, arrived less than refreshed in Nha Trang and went for a wander. It's a big town with a growing tourist side, and a long beautiful beach with turquoise water. So that's all we did all day, rented deck chairs and lounged. Oh and we went jet skiing too. That was great, although Ben had an annoying habit of taking jumps at angles which almost made us tip over... but to be fair, the only time we almost fell off was when I was driving.
Two days of lounging and sunning and sleeping was just what I needed!
At night, we tore up the town, obviously, because it seems that there is nothing else to do in this town apart from beach and party. Not complaining in the slightest! Went to the 'sailing club' and 'why not' for some good old fashioned dancing. My flip flops broke so I got piggy-backed home by James. The boys went out to look for a midnight snack one night (at 4 am) and got lost! They came back an hour later after getting their bowl of pho halfway across town. I'm glad I wasn't hungry enough to go with them!
