Saturday 21st July
Well Gday people,
Today is a sad day, last day in Randwick, everything is packed and just waiting for Stuart and John to come with the Ute's and help us move. Have been scrubing the place to ensure we get our bond back, cant cope without getting that back. Thursday was my last day at work which felt very strange, just starting to feel like i'd really settled. Went out for lunch to a pizza place, they normally go thai but i put a stop to that, there was 14 of us, all of the early shift so was really nice. That night me and Paul met the late shift from work and had a couple of drinks at the hospital local, The Royal. So was really sad to leave, although after doing 5 earlies in a row, it was a good feeling to think wouldn't have to get up at 0600 to go to work for ages (just to rub it in, about 3-4 mths to be exact!). Last night me and Paul went to bid a fond farewell to Coogee, had dinner in one of our fave restaurants, La Spiaggia and then went to the infamous Coogee bay hotel (pub) for a couple before going to swish Cushion bar. Then stood looking at the beach feeling very sad to be leaving this amazing place.
Other than that didnt do anything this week. Last week we did the Sydney tower skywalk, the tower is about 300m high and there is a see through platform outside that goes round the whole tower. We had to put jump suits on and were attached with a harness on a lead to a bar, to ensure we didnt get blown off! We did the twilight walk at 1600 so we were out there from 16.30 till 17:30 so saw sunset. It was really cool could see for ages as sky was clear. Walked around the tower so could see all angles, the platform wasnt too scary either. Was windy but not too bad, picked a good day, wernt aloud to take a camera up which is annoying, i think its just so you have to buy their photos. Afterwards had dinner at the amazing opera bar, outside under a nice patio heater.
Saturday night we went to see oceans 13 at the local retro cinema in Randwick. Took the amazing ice cream cold rock in so was all good. Sunday after work went to the city and went didgiredoo shopping and bought one, had to be done! Paul had a go, they do lessons so will try and get to that, would be amusing! Had dinner afterwards at circular quay, looking around and thinking for the millionth time how wonderful this place is!
So that was our last 2 weeks, no more living in Randwick. We are now off to Mount Colah till monday 30th when we fly to Brisbane to undertake our next adventures. Not sure what we are going to do this week, depends how many days off paul has but will tell you all about it before we leave.
So no more presents our phone calls to Randwick (yeah right)
miss and love you loads Laura and Paulxxx
