Just to stop everyone being jealous, weather has been rubbish here, bucketed it down yesterday! Our first taste of bad weather. Have had a good time here though, but surprisingly also had a really good time in Canberra where everyone we met asked us "what the hell are you doing in Canberra?"
Went and saw the sydney opera house and actually wasn't too impressed! It was gloomy so instead of looking brilliant white against a blue sky as you always see it in pics it was kinda brown against a grey sky!
I sound like I'm moaning now so gonna shut up! Hostel is good but is a party hostel so been drinking too much and am quite hungover today.
Don't worry Aunty Wendy, have been taking care, and I can tell you I really haven't lost weight but thanks for saying so! I probably did in Inida but put it all back on again. Laura's rellies have been feeding us up. Thanks for the message, hope you have a nice wkend with Ang, i'm sure the weather is better in Croydon than here!
Aunty Jean glad to hear your getting better and tell that family of yours that since you have cleaned up after them for 20 odd years they can do it a while longer for you! Yeah I remember doing AS exmas and then going straight into A2s that really sucked! Good news about Helen, I never had any doubts, she is silly for worrying so much she is a clever bean but sounds like she was under a lot of pressure. Has Alison decided what she is doing at uni? She could take a gap yr and work and then go around the world couldn't she?
Robyn hello my darling! nice to hear from you, your msg made me laugh. I look forward to that serenade.
Anyway got to go,
Lots of love everyone

Hello from Sydney.
Actually had a fantastic night that Saturday, we started drinking a bit early but that ment we got to meet lots of cool older characters rather than the teenage drunkards like ourselves.
For example 2 guys with a chess board sat down at our table and started to play chess, that game just ended in drunkness. Then we were joined by their friends 2 locals hippies about 35 yrs old who told us where to visit up the East Coast and tried to persuade us to join a voluntary organic farmers workers organisation where in exchange for working for an hour or so on the farm you're given free accomodation and food. Then we were joined by a quiet guy whos a customs officer, got some free pizza and quiet drunk. We kept finding ourselves defending why we had come to visit Canberra and as we discovered there's not much there apart from politicians. And had 3 offers of accomadation from people throughout the night which we refused. But still had fun there.
Sydney is a lot more lively and is a lot bigger, having a great time here.
Good luck with your last GCSE Oliver.
All the Best
Laura

Hi Kate & Laura
Sorry for not getting in contact sooner but I lost your blog site address - actually as Robert is now away in Wales for a few weeks and won't be reading this maybe I should blame Robert!!
In the end I got your site address from your dad, he popped in to see us the other wk-end (with a bottle of wine, which I accepted - only to be polite of course).
So glad that both you and Laura are having such a wonderful time and the photos are marvellous - but I hope you're looking after yourselves. Kate it looks like you've lost some weight.
Angela and the family are back from hols today so I'm off to stay with them this wk-end - Croydon versus Australia!! Never mind it will be good fun and a chance to catch up with the goss.
Robert and I are thinking of you, please do take care. Lot of luv to you both

Dear Kate and Laura
Injection to arm has worked about 90% - clamp from hospital helps a lot, hense can now email and use mouse again. Still taking it easy, no washing up, cooking, making beds etc - family still complaining! Helen passed her exams - so got told off for worrying me so much. Alison has begun A2s straight after AS exams so no rest there! Frank has gone on boat trip on weaver - just lads - and sadly is been raining here for what seems forever but luckily forecast for next few days is sun - we are looking forward to getting summer back again. Good to see pics of you enjoying yourselves - Helen and Alison very jealous as neither will be able to do what you two have been able to, well not this side of five years anyway! Maybe when they are in their early 30s!!
Love Jean

Hi Laura, I have been looking at your pics and reading about your adventures - its sounds great!! Not much happening here, boring in comparison to your life. Emma has finished her first year at uni and is now home for the summer, Sam is currently caught up with AS exams and has become really stressed. Rosie is just being Rosie. Emma is going to get in touch, I have forwarded your site to her. Take care, keep safe x x

Hi Kate and Laura from Florence. First time in an internet cafe. Good to see you looking happy and looking well in Oz.
Having a good time here. Seen lots of famous paintings, sculptures etc. The Duomo (Cathedral) is awesome!
Hope we will be able to find another cafe in Spoleto.
Stay safe.
Love dad and mum xxxx

Hi girls
Not a lot happening here. Have booked a fortnight holiday end June/beginning July at the Med end of the France/Spain border. It means Jan and I will be spending two weeks with Oliver and his mate Tom. I don't know what's worse - us having to be cooped up with them or them having to be with us! Anyway, no woolly hats or scarves for us.
Stay in touch
Dad

Hi Laura,
just finished looking at your pics , havn't had chance for 2 weeksas have had aunty ol staying with me! Looks like your having a fab time, your looking quite thin, wot you need is plenty of nice choccy!! Josh and Kim are in Cuba for 2 weeks heard from him last night, they arrived at their hotel and were met by a group of 21 welsh people from merthyr Tydfil, he was horrified, lol. I've just said goodbye to our neighbours who are leaving for Perth today, lots of tears etc, the kids didn't want to go etc, they're a bit gutted as they are going into winter so no summer for them!!
Lots of love to you both

Laura
Hello everyone, thanks for all the messages.
Gibbs thanks for your message it made both of us laugh so hard people in the interent cafe gave us wierd looks and thought we were crazy.
Ida it sucks that we didn't meet up and that you and jennie had to spend your last night in a rickshaw. Its colder here than it is in Sweden if that consulation. Really hope you and Jennie enjoyed your time at the orphange, and you're still the sexiest postwoman in Scandinavia.
Jan I'm so glad you messaged its really nice to hear from people back home, hope your ISC concert went well I'm sure it did because your music is awesome. Think you can hold on for the last 5 weeks. If you want to email me any juicy Rossall gossip in the strictest confidence you're more than welcome.
Got to go and buy some nice chocolates for Andrew as a present for everything he's done for us.
