This will just be a quick entry because there isn't much to say about Hervey Bay. We were only really there because it is the biggest the gateway to Fraser Island, and only stayed there for one day after we got back from the trip. We got back from Fraser in the afternoon and were so tired that we just chilled out for the rest of that day. Luckily the rooms in the hostel were really nice, and there was a small room off the main one that me and Justin managed to grab so we had our own room. We went out for a chinese buffet that night which in hindsight was a big mistake. I had about three bites of my food and started to feel really sick and had a bad stomach ache. I think something I ate reminded me of what I ate in Thailand just before I got sick, so it put me off. As I felt so rough I went to bed straight away. That was a bit of a waste of money!
After eating a huge fry-up in the morning because I was so hungry from the night before, I spent the next day down at the beach. The beach at Hervey Bay was really nice and really quiet which was great. It was actually really long too, but becasue the bay is sheltered so much by Fraser Island the sea is really calm and shallow. The tide was so far out that it was too much of a mission to go in the sea which didn't please the boys, but I was happy just to work on my tan! We just chilled out again that night as we were all still worn out from the last few days. The football was on (again!) and some of the others went to the pub to watch it but I thought I'd give it a miss this time. Hervey Bay is actually much smaller than I thought it would be and there wasn't much else to do rather than go to the beach so the next day we just went for breakfast and then mooched around the hostel until it was time to go and catch the next Greyhound. We left in the afternoon the next day to head to Town of 1770 and Agnes Water.
