We arrived in Ubud on the 11th and checked into our hotel where we had a big family room for 5 of us to share. Georgina's friends also came to Ubud and stayed in the same hotel. The hotel had a pool and we spent the afternoon just chilling around it. I booked the restaurant that me and Luke had gone to (Warung Fair Bale) whilst we were in Ubud for the 9 of us at 6pm. Again the food was amazing and everyone loved it so I was happy that I took them! We stopped for ice cream on the way back and then went and chatted for ages back in our room before we went to bed.
The next day we got up at 11 had breakfast at the hotel and then went to the Monkey sanctuary. I had already been with Luke but I didn't mind going again. This time I was a bit braver and actually got a picture with a monkey sitting on my shoulder! In the afternoon we went to a jewellery making class where I made my own silver ring! It was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be and I made it a bit smaller than I wanted it so ended up having to wear it on a different finger but apart from that it turned out okay. I really enjoyed the class and was glad I could take something home that I had actually made myself. In the evening we went for dinner at a restaurant we had been recommended by the other Horsham girls called Cinta and the food again was amazing! We went back to the hotel and went to bed early as we were up early for a sunrise trek.
We woke up at 1.30am for the sunrise trek and were picked up and driven about 40 minutes outside of Ubud. It was pitch black and we trekked up a volcano for around 2 hours. It was a lot harder than we thought and was very steep! The sky was full of stars and I even saw a few shooting stars which was amazing! At the top we had an hour to hang around until sunrise and it was freezing! They gave us warm hard boiled eggs for breakfast and we ended up rubbing them all over our body to keep warm, it was very funny and we looked very weird. When the sun eventually did rise it was too cloudy to even see it which was such a let down! It did rise a bit above the clouds which was slightly better and we got some good photos. It was also cool to see steam pockets at the top of the volcano too and we used them to warm ourselves up as well! The trek back down was hard and was quite slippy but we got there in the end and the views were also amazing. We went back to the hotel and slept for a bit and the chilled round the pool for the rest of the day. In the evening we went shopping and then had dinner and Cinta again. We went to bed earlyish as we were up the next morning for our boat to Gili T.
